A board that trips, a dead circuit, a socket that smells — diagnosed and fixed, with the cause written down.
The RCD in a Maltese board trips at 30 mA of earth leakage, and it does not say where from. In practice the usual suspects are an ageing water-heater element, a damp outdoor socket after rain, an appliance with a leaking filter, humidity in an unused room, and — increasingly — inverter air-conditioning or appliances sitting on an older Type AC RCD that cannot read DC-offset leakage. Fault finding is a process of elimination with a test meter, not a guess with a screwdriver.
We publish the call-out and fault-finding bands so you know what a visit costs before you ring. If the fix is a Type A RCD or a new element, that is priced on the spot.
Maltese guides put fault finding at €60 to €150 and emergency work at €50 to €100 an hour. The call-out band covers the visit; labour on the fix is on top and agreed before it is done.
| Job | Unit | Band | What is in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fault finding / RCD tripping | per job | €60 – €150 | diagnosis of a tripping RCD, dead circuit or intermittent fault |
| Standard call-out | per visit | €20 – €60 | daytime visit; labour on top at the hourly rate |
| Emergency electrician | per hour | €50 – €100 | nights, weekends and public holidays |
A band, not a quote: the low end is a straightforward job with clear access, the high end is the same job with the complications a site visit finds. Materials are included where the line says so.

You deal with us, not with the trade. We visit, we quote a fixed price, we bring in a REWS-authorised electrician from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and we stand behind the work. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice — and a certificate at the end.
